I am really unsure if you realy know what marriage means. It is a commitment to be one with your future husband/wife. This vow just seems to me to reflect that two people are getting married, but are still going to be living two seperate lives. Not one as it is meant to be.

| I think these vows are far more realistic than the sappy "two become one" yadda yadda. It aknowledges the reality of marriage as a partnership where two separate entities come together to live a life together, each with their own identities. It acknowledges that there is life after the wedding ceremony, and that in order for a marriage to thrive, there must be growing and changing together, two people committed to making their differences work and their similarities thrive. |
