All of Us

(Name), we met 3 years ago and we have been close by each other’s side ever since. Today is our celebration of our love for each other and I feel so proud and happy to be able to commit the rest of my life to you. Of course as you and I always do we have done things a bit backwards. In some old book somewhere it says “Get married, then have kids.”

You have patiently helped me become a father to (Name) and for me personally today is also about my love and commitment to (Name) and our little family. I am his father and he is my son.

You and (Name) and (Name) have so enriched my life and I am forever grateful for that. I could not love you any more than I do, you are my best friend and I am blessed that we will be partners for the rest of our lives. Thank you for everything that has been so far and for everything that will be in the future.

I liked this particular vow because it is loving to the partner and recognizes the children as well. It has a light hearted almost comical statement about doing it backwards and having the children first. It tells my story. Also the words are beautiful without being too sappy.

Even the most negligible and odd things will help spark a creative flow.Once you have your collection of thoughts, try to organize them in a coherent way. At this point start winnowing out the bits that don't seem to be in the right place anymore (there will be quite a few) What you end with will surely recommend a direction to go in making a heartfelt declaration of your like, devotion, hopes and dreams.Do not over-write it. Use your own accent. You aren't bloody Shakespeare and shouldn't try to sound as if you were.Congrats.
