| I'm a Friend. What this site calls "vow 1" is traditionally what a Quaker bride & groom say to wed one another... Short, Sweet and Simple.... Vows 2 & 3 are traditional Quaker wordings of our marriage certificate.... Today, we still usually speak vow one... tho' some will speak own vows... And, marriage certificate wording is much simpler and in 21st century English... not old time legalese... |

Actually, sample 2 and 3 are not the vows themselves. These are examples of wording for the marriage certificate, which is signed by everyone in attendance as witnesses of the marriage.
