  • Laura Hendricks or Ann Landers

I see this quote mostly attributed to Ann Landers, except for a few wedding vow sites that list Laura Hendricks as the author. I would appreciate some clarification.

A potential to be involved in a specific, special, sustainable personal development, that can humble us to follow a appropriate rewarding discipline, and perception of of the language of the soul.

  • For 46 years we lived these words

My husband and I shared these words for 46 years, even before we were married. I continue to share them today with friends and family at each marriage. Love is easy when times are good. These words are a salve when times are bad. Never be afraid to love someone.

  • chance the end

we thought the same as Lisa, so we swapped the last 2 sentences for a bit about love from les miserables.."a
great happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved. Loved for ourselves. & even loved in spite of ourselves" which was less bleak than nothing being enough

  • Loyalty Good Times and Bad

Everyone who gets married should have these lines tattooed on their arm as a reminder of the vows they took on the most special day of their lives...LOL or perhaps it should be ingrained in their heart in earnest

maybe if this was done then we wouldn't "throw away" our marriages the way our society condones. The aspects of our lives would be drastically different. It's accepted but think about it..if we can treat the most special person in our lives in this way then how poorly can we treat everyone else that we come into contact on a daily basis? Life would be a whole lot better if this was the case?

  • Love is love

Not just romantic love. If you've been invited to a wedding there is more than romantic 'true' love involved. Being there makes you a partbof this. I think this a beautiful reading for all.

  • Exactly what I would want to say

Perfect for a wedding- the referene to living without love is to a marriage without love- not referring to being single

  • Nice poem for second wedding

I feel this poem is wonderful for finding Love the second time around, Or later in life marriage. The last two lines say it all!

  • Everyone has Love

I also disagree with Lisa. It doesn't state that you have to find your true love. It just states love in your life, could be family, a close friend or a lover.

  • Awesome quote

I just showed this to my husband to be and we decided on using it as a final reading before we exit the church and we're getting it placed on plaque to hang in the foyer to remind everyone that visits.

  • Great poem for a wedding

I disagree. If you're at a wedding, chances are you expect there to be lots of talk about love and commitment. These "frequent reminders" can be easily avoided--by not going to the wedding! If there's anyone out there that's so bitter that they can't enjoy the happiness of the couple being married (even if their readings aren't to their taste), they are just a crappy friend.

  • Not a great poem for all

On the other hand, this is a pretty depressing reading to hear at a wedding if you are alone. Although it may be true that life will never be enough without finding your true love, there's nothing worse than the happily-ever-after delegations frequent reminders.

This is a great poem for a wedding. Not only does it tell you what marriage is about;it renews your spirit during difficult times. Since the wedding, from time to time, I find myselft reading it and it serves as a reminder as to what our wedding day was all about.
